    The Midwest Independent Booksellers Association has appointed a new president to head its board: Tripp Ryder, general trade manager at Carleton College Bookstore in Northfield, Minn., will assume the duties immediately.

  • Obituary: Elizabeth A. Geiser

    Elizabeth A. Geiser, publishing executive and educator, died on October 8 at her home in Florida. One of the founders of the University of Denver Publishing Institute in 1976, Geiser also served as senior v-p of the book division of R.R. Bowker Company and then as senior v-p/business development for Gale Research Company.
