Shelley Pierce will step down as editor-in-chief of Children's Book-of-the-Month Club at the end of November, one year after she was appointed to the position. A spokesperson cited "philosophical differences" as the reason for Pierce's departure. Until a successor is found, Brigitte Weeks, senior v-p and editor-in-chief of BOMC, will oversee CBOMC and BookPlanet, a club for older children that rolled out earlier this year. Weeks took over the editorial reins of BOMC in September, following the resignation of Mel Parker.
