Haymarket Launches Book Not Bars Fundraiser

Haymarket Books has launched its annual Books Not Bars fundraiser in support of the progressive publisher's initiative to send free books to incarcerated readers. This year, the Chicago–based press aims to raise $20,000 to cover the production and shipping costs of at least 2,000 free books from its catalog.

Books Not Bars aims to "support those inside who are dealing with the immense violence of the prison system" and connect them with "opportunities for political education," per Haymarket's website. Supporters can donate here. Readers can submit a book request here.
