Bridgett A. Green Takes the Helm at WJK
Bridgett A. Green has been named as the new president and publisher of the Louisville, Ky.–based Westminster John Knox Press (WJK), effective January 1, 2026. Green has served as VP of publishing and editorial director of the press since 2022, and as interim president since May 2025. She will succeed David Dobson, who retired earlier this year, and will be the first woman and the first Black person to hold this position.
In her new role, Green will guide the editorial development and all operations for the nearly 200-year-old press. She will also lead WJK’s executive staff as they continue to “reenvision the press as an anti-racist publisher and organization,” per a press release.
“I am honored and grateful to be selected to serve as president and publisher of WJK,” Green said. “WJK has a long and distinguished history of equipping the church, nurturing theological imagination, inspiring faith, and amplifying diverse voices grounded in the Reformed tradition. Its mission deeply aligns with my own calling as a scholar, a minister, and a publishing leader.”
In addition to her work with WJK, Green serves on the boards of the Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminar, the Presbyterian Outlook, and the Montreat Conference Center. She also holds a PhD in religion from Vanderbilt University, with an emphasis in New Testament and Early Christianity.
