Ashleigh Gardner Returns to Rakuten Kobo as VP of Self-Publishing, Originals
Ashleigh Gardner has returned to Rakuten Kobo, where she previously worked from 2010 to 2013, as VP of self-publishing and Kobo originals. Previously, Gardner served as SVP and managing director of global publishing at Wattpad and, most recently, as an independent strategy and content consultant.
In her new role at Rakuten Kobo, Gardner will identify and support new talent, build global author platforms, and develop a “robust” publishing program, with an emphasis on further expanding the publisher’s market reach across Europe, per a statement.
“We are incredibly excited to have Ashleigh rejoin the Kobo team,” said Erik Rigters, SVP of publisher relations and catalog and content sales at Rakuten Kobo. “Her unique insights and proven ability to innovate in the digital publishing space will be a tremendous asset as we continue to evolve and strengthen our offerings for authors and readers alike.”
Gardner will be based in Rakuten Kobo’s Toronto office.
