Marco Jochum Named PRH’s EVP and Director of Global Human Resources
Penguin Random House has appointed Marco Jochum as EVP and director of global human resources.
In the newly created position, Jochum will convene HR leadership across the company on a regular basis to share “insights, learnings, and best practices,” according to the publisher. This fall, he will also embark on a “listening tour,” meeting with local CEOs, HR heads, and their teams across PRH’s territories to shape global HR agendas.
Jochum has led HR at PRH Germany since 2021, where he established a new people and culture department to support talent development. In addition to his new role at PRH, Jochum will continue serving as SVP of people and culture at PRH Germany.
Prior to PRH, Jochum held senior HR positions across several Bertelsmann divisions and spent more than a decade at Commerzbank AG’s HR division.
“I’ve worked extensively with Marco during the leadership search at PRH Germany and have really appreciated his strategic acumen and thoughtful approach to HR topics,” said PRH CEO Nihar Malaviya in a statement. “His genuine passion, vision, and empathy, combined with his deep knowledge of the PRH and Bertelsmann businesses and culture, will make him a valued partner for our HR teams around the world.”
In this role, Jochum will report to Malaviya and join PRH’s Global Executive Committee.
Correction: A previous version of this article stated that Jochum was appointed to SVP of people and culture at PRH Germany. He was appointed as EVP and director of global human resources at PRH US, and will retain his position at PRH Germany in addition to his new role.
