Harper Takes Thriller from V.E. Schwab, Cat Clarke

Sarah Stein at Harper acquired North American rights to The Ending Writes Itself by Evelyn Clarke, the joint pen name of V.E. Schwab and Cat Clarke. Holly Root at Root Literary represented Schwab and Julia Churchill at A.M. Heath represented Clarke.

The thriller, said the publisher, “takes readers to a secluded Scottish island, where six struggling authors are given the chance to complete the unfinished manuscript of a legendary writer in just 72 hours, and in exchange are offered a life-changing sum of money and the chance to turn their floundering careers around.”

Publication is set for April 7, 2026.
