IPG Expands Comics Distribution with New Direct Market Terms

Citing growth in sales of comics, graphic novels, manga, and RPG publishers whose books it distributes, Independent Publishing Group (IPG) has announced new terms for direct market distribution. Terms for orders, which require a $100 minimum purchase, include:

  • Retail Trade Returnable: 45% Discount, Free Freight, Net 30, and first order gets an extra 3% discount
  • Retail Trade Nonreturnable: 50% Discount, Free Freight, Net 30, and first order gets an extra 3% discount

“We used Diamond Books as our specialty wholesaler to comic book shops. Now that Diamond is gone, we are opening up with those stores directly,” IPG CEO Joe Matthews told PW. We have signed several wonderful new indie comic and manga publishers, and several more great ones are in the pipeline.”

Among IPG’s new distribution comics in the space are Invader Comics, Kodama, One Peace Books, and ZeroZero Entertainment. IPG also distributes for such houses as Black Panel Press, Dead Sky Publishing, IPI Comics, Korero Press NBM Publishing, Outland Entertainment, Ponent Mon, and SHP Comics.
