Cristina Cushing to Head Sourcebooks Sales Strategy
Sourcebooks has named Cristina Cushing as its director of sales strategy, a new leadership role designed to “accelerate growth and create opportunities for both authors and retail partners,” according to the publisher.
Cushing joins Sourcebooks after nearly nine years at Macmillan, where she most recently served as associate director of sales and oversaw trade business at Barnes & Noble, Barnes & Noble College, and Books-A-Million.
In her new role at Sourcebooks, Cushing will lead overall sales strategy while overseeing the mass and special market channels. She’ll also partner with publishing, marketing, and retail teams to build “new pathways that get books to more readers, creating growth opportunities for authors, retailers, and readers alike,” the publisher says.
Cushing’s appointment comes amid a period of significant growth at Sourcebooks, with more than 100 new positions added across the company in the past two years.
