
S&S to Publish Siri Hustvedt’s Memoir of Life with Paul Auster
Carina Guiterman at Simon & Schuster acquired North American rights to Siri Hustvedt’s Ghost Stories from Amanda Urban at CAA. The publisher called the book “a patchwork-quilt memoir” that chronicles Hustvedt’s “43-year love story with writer, poet and filmmaker Paul Auster, from their first meeting in New York in the early 80s to his cancer diagnosis and death in 2024.” The book will also include Auster’s final piece of writing, in the form of letters written to his and Hustvedt’s infant grandson, per the publisher. Publication is set for May 5, 2026.
Translation rights have also been sold in Germany (Rowohlt), Spain (Seix Barral; Catalan rights to Grup 62), France (Gallimard), Denmark (Lindhardt & Ringhof), Poland (Znak), Italy (Einaudi), Brazil (Companhia), Holland (De Bezige Bij), Korea (MujinTree) and Greece (Metaichmio). Federico Andornino at Sceptre acquired U.K. and Commonwealth (excluding Canada).
