Massive Launches Program Supporting New Series
Massive Publishing has launched the Massive Pilot program, a creator-first platform designed to help comic book creators launch new series by “combining the power of crowdfunding with Massive’s publishing infrastructure,” according to a press release.
The initiative will include campaigns with high-end early release versions of the series debut, which will be produced in limited quantities and feature upgraded paper stocks, specialty covers, exclusive content, and collectible treatments curated for campaign backers. Series that gain traction will be fast-tracked for full release and direct-market distribution, while 100% of the initial funding goals is redistributed directly to the creative team. The Disavowed, written by Josh Blaylock with Pop Mhan, will kick off the Pilot Program.
“Our goal is to build a bridge between creator ideas and reader support,” Michael Calero, CEO of Massive Publishing, said. “With the Pilot Program, fans aren’t just buying a comic—they’re part of launching it.”
