Dzanc Teams with PalmArtPress
Dzanc Books has partnered with Berlin-based independent publisher PalmArtPress to bring PalmArtPress's U.S. arm under Dzanc as an imprint. Dzanc will distribute PalmArtPress titles to the U.S. market, which were previously distributed by the now-shuttered Small Press Distribution.
“It’s no small thing for an independent press to survive. We need unconventional presses and challenging, rule-breaking books, now more than ever. It’s a pleasure to be partnering with such a dedicated team and helping PalmArtPress’s books find new readers,” said Michelle Dotter, editor-in-chief of Dzanc Books, in a statement. “SPD’s sudden dissolution left a lot of presses scrambling; we’re glad to be able to offer support and a new path forward, even for just this one.”
The first title planned for distribution under the collaboration is Mitya New’s novel Beyond Mount Kailash, slated for December. Also forthcoming is a manifesto by artist Ai Weiwei.
