AUPresses Names Dennis Lloyd 75th President

Dennis Lloyd, director at the University of Wisconsin Press, has stepped into the top leadership role of the Association of University Presses (AUPresses). Lloyd succeeds Anthony Bond, director at the Liverpool University Press.

Lloyd brings more than 30 years of experience spanning six presses, and has been active in developing digital open-access initiatives. From 2017-2020, he served on the Board of Directors for AUPresses, which comprises over 160 nonprofit scholarly publishers. Lloyd has also sat on the Project MUSE Advisory Board.

In his inaugural statement, Lloyd emphasized university presses’ shared foundation in truth-seeking, and drew on the University of Wisconsin’s belief that education’s influence should resonate beyond the classroom. Read his full statement here.
