NAIBA Executive Director Eileen Dengler to Retire

Eileen Dengler, the longtime executive director of the New Atlantic Independent Booksellers Association, has announced she will retire in December 2026. Dengler has led NAIBA for more than 20 years.

Dengler got her start at the American Booksellers Association in 1984. She spent 10 years at the ABA and served as director of meetings and conventions, a role in which she was responsible for all aspects of the ABA Annual Convention.

Dengler will also step down from her position as president of the Professional Booksellers School, which she founded in 2020, in 2027.
