HarperCollins Nordic Names New Managing Director
HarperCollins Nordic has announced the retirement of managing director Anette Ekström, who has led the company since 2001. During her tenure, Ekström guided the company through significant growth and change across the diverse markets of Sweden, Denmark, Norway, and Finland.
"It has been an incredible journey, and I am deeply grateful for the support of my colleagues and the publishing community over the years," said Ekström in a statement. "As I step into retirement, I am excited to see how HarperCollins Nordic will continue to evolve and thrive under new leadership."
Rebecka Leffler will assume the role of managing director for HarperCollins Nordic, effective September 3. Previously, Leffler served as publishing director at Bonnier Books, overseeing multiple imprints. During her career, Leffler has worked across a variety of roles, including running mass market paperback and digital businesses and launching a new publishing company as managing director of Strawberry Publishing in Sweden in 2019.
"I am honored to join HarperCollins Nordic and to build upon the strong foundation that Anette has established," said Leffler in a statement. "I look forward to collaborating with the talented team and exploring new opportunities to connect readers with exceptional stories."
