TFAW.com to Shut Down This Month

TFAW.com, the e-commerce portal for comic book chain Things From Another World, will shut down on April 30, ending its online service after 25 years.

TFAW was founded in the 1980s by Mike Richardson as a Bend, Ore.–based comic shop, which eventually grew into a retail chain that, at its height, had 11 locations. Currently, its three brick-and-mortar stores—two in Oregon and one in Burbank, Calif.—will remain open, even as its e-commerce wing ceases operations.

According to the TFAW website, they will stop taking preorders beginning on April 9, while April 21 marks the last date to order in-stock items.

The move comes after Dark Horse shut down its own digital platforms in February, and amid reshuffling at Diamond Comic Distributors following its bankruptcy filings earlier this year.
