Nantucket Book Festival Lineup Announced for June
The Nantucket Book Foundation has rolled out its lineup for the 14th annual Nantucket Book Festival, to be held June 12–15 on the island. Twenty-nine authors will read from their work, participate in panel discussions, and attend social events. Most festival events are free and within walking distance of the ferry terminal.
Headliners include journalist Bob Woodward (War), National Book Award winner Imani Perry (Black in Blues), MacArthur fellow and American Book Award winner Ocean Vuong (The Emperor of Gladness, May), Pulitzer Prize winner Geraldine Brooks (Memorial Days), Carl Hiaasen (Fever Beach, May), Jennifer Finney Boylan (Cleavage), and Wally Lamb (The River Is Waiting, May).
Other authors in attendance will include former National Ambassador for Young People’s Literature and past Nantucket Book Foundation visiting author Jason Reynolds (Twenty-Four Seconds from Now); MSNBC political analyst Molly Jong-Fast (How to Lose Your Mother, June); SisterSong and human rights activist Loretta J. Ross (Calling In); and novelist Alice Hoffman (When We Flew Away).
In a statement, Nantucket Book Foundation president Tim Ehrenberg said the festival committee “works tirelessly to bring diverse voices to our island for the annual event,” bringing in authors who “capture the full human experience and celebrate the transformative power of literature.”
