
Pam Muñoz Ryan, Meg Medina to Keynote LKBF Latinx Storytellers Conference
The Latinx Kidlit Book Festival's second annual Latinx Storytellers Conference will be held at Scholastic Headquarters in NYC on September 12–13, with an opening keynote featuring Children’s Literature Award recipient Pam Muñoz Ryan and former National Ambassador for Young People’s Literature and Newbery Medalist Meg Medina.
The 48-hour intensive publishing crash course is the nation's largest in-person gathering of Latinx writers, illustrators, editors, literary agents, and publishers of children and adult books. Faculty includes such authors and illustrators as Veronica Chambers, Alexis Daria, Jaquira Díaz, Alyssa Reynoso-Morris, José Olivarez, John Parra, Ana Reyes, Edel Rodriguez, Elisabet Rodriguez, Eric Velasquez, Sara Gómez Wolley, and Ibi Zoboi. All conference proceeds from the LKBF Latinx Storytellers Conference benefit the Latinx KidLit Book Festival’s programsm including its virtual book festival, school visits, book donations, educator outreach and advocacy for Latinx-authored children’s books in schools and libraries everywhere.
