Mysterious Press to Publish Nonfiction Collection from Lee Child

Otto Penzler, president and CEO of Penzler Publishers, has acquired world rights to Reacher: The Stories Behind the Stories by Lee Child from Darley Anderson of Darley Anderson Agency & Associates. The work of nonfiction, to be published under the Mysterious Press imprint, was “conceived and curated” by Penzler, and comprises accounts of the composition of titles in Child’s bestselling Jack Reacher series that were originally written for inclusion in limited editions published by the Mysterious Bookshop. “Taken together,” the author said, “these forewords read like a diary of my writing life—and my real life, too—covering where I was, what was on my mind, what I was doing, what I was thinking. Even I am surprised at some of it!” Publication is slated for September 9.
