Antony Blinken Brings a Memoir to Crown
David Drake, president of the Crown Publishing Group, preempted an as-yet-untitled memoir by Antony Blinken, former United States secretary of state under president Joe Biden, from Esther Newberg of CAA. Crown VP and executive editor Kevin Doughten is set to edit. “Across more than three decades in senior roles under Presidents Clinton, Obama, and Biden,” the publisher said, “Antony Blinken was the man in the room, at the center of the vast apparatus of American power around the globe.” With his memoir, “Blinken will pull back the curtain on the challenging and often controversial decision-making across key flashpoints,” offering “the first inside story from within the administration” on such major world events as Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, Hamas’s surprise attack on Israel on October 7, 2023, and Israel’s military response, and more. A title and publication date will be shared at a later date.
