Second Story Press Changes Ownership
Margie Wolfe, founder and owner of Toronto's Second Story Press, has transferred ownership of the feminist publishing house to Phuong Truong, who has served as general manager for the past two decades.
"This change is very hard for me," Wolfe said. "My work has been a gift that I have loved and cherished." She added that she will remain involved in acquiring titles, focusing on international rights, anti-hate and social justice initiatives, and overseeing a portion of the list.
Founded in 1988 by Wolfe and three colleagues from Women's Press, Second Story has published books in more than 40 languages, with a focus on social justice and diversity in both adult and children's literature.
"I am so honored that Margie has entrusted me with guiding Second Story Press into the future," said Truong, who highlighted Wolfe's impact on children's publishing: "She has been instrumental in changing the way that we introduce difficult topics to children."
