Francesca Young, James Mitchem Up at DK Children's
DK Children's has announced a series of promotions within its U.K.–based leadership team.
Francesca Young has been appointed as associate publishing director. Young, who previously served as publisher, will drive new publishing opportunities across fiction, author-led, and gift titles, and will also spearhead preschool publishing. She will report to Arabella Stein, trade strategy director.
James Mitchem has been promoted to publisher. He will work to expand DK Children's nonfiction publishing through new topics and formats, including narrative nonfiction. Mitchem will report to managing director Sarah Larter and Andre Macintyre, who continues as publisher for older nonfiction and reference titles.
In addition, Gemma Farr has stepped into the role of associate publisher, overseeing the 3-5 and 5-7 nonfiction categories, and Issy Walsh has been promoted to senior project manager, where she will continue to support the non-trade list.
