Whether you’re in the mood for Mel Robbins, Haruki Murakami,or an epic installment in the HarryPotter series, Audible has a story for you. Boasting the world’s largest selection of audiobooks, as well as a vast library of podcasts and AudibleOriginals, Audible is a pioneer in the premium audio storytelling space, bringing dynamic entertainment experiences to millions of listeners of all ages.
Having launched its first service in 1997, Audible serves members in more than180 countries, offers content in 50-plus languages, and has more than one million titles in its library. The Audiobook Creation Exchange (ACX), an online marketplace launched by Audible in 2011, has yielded significant growth in audiobook production and more stories for Audible listeners. With ACX,independent creators have published more than 290,000 titles thus far, Audible says, making up some 30 percent of Audible’s catalogue and further diversifying its offerings. The platform also continues to invest in premium content through Audible Books, featuring best-selling and breakout titles only available on the Audible service, and Original productions in collaboration with both iconic and emerging creative voices.
Keen to keep innovating, Audible is harnessingthe power of AIto expand its reach. The platform is introducing more audiobook titles through publisher partnerships using fully integrated, end-to-end AI production technology. Publishing partners can let Audible handle their entire audiobook production process or utilize the self-service option, giving them the freedom to manage their own production strategy. Publishers can choose from more than 100 AI-generated voices across English, Spanish, French, and Italian, with multiple accent and dialect options. AI translation will begin rolling out in beta in 2025, the company says, allowing publishers to bring audiobooks to international audiences in local languages.
AI represents a significant opportunity to expand the availability of audiobooks, says Audible CEO Bob Carrigan. “We’ll be able to bring more stories to life, helping creators reach new audiences while ensuring listeners worldwide can access extraordinary books that might otherwise never reach their ears.”
At Audible, innovation is everywhere. The company pushes creative boundaries as it demonstrates the distinct potential of the audio medium—one listening experience at a time.
