Justine Trubey rejoins Random House as senior v-p, technology and operations. She was previously senior manager of global content operations for Amazon’s Kindle, and before that, executive director, operations, RH Audio. Nihar Malaviya has been named v-p, strategy, analytics and program development at Random House; he was v-p, strategy, sales, operations, and digital. Both are newly created positions and report to Madeline McIntosh.

Ruckus Media Group has hired Jason Root as chief content officer and Jeff Zakim as marketing director. Root will oversee app development, creative and production for mobile devices, and business development for brand partnerships. He has held senior positions at The Walt Disney Co. and Nickelodeon. Zakim will be in charge of digital marketing initiatives including SEO, SEM, and the expansion of the Ruckus network of marketing outlets, partnerships, consumer acquisition, and revenue opportunities. He was formerly senior director of global digital marketing at EMI Music.

Rodrigo Corral will become creative director of Farrar, Straus and Giroux beginning in early April. Corral is head of Rodrigo Corral Design, a studio which he established in 2002 and will continue to run. Corral's first job was in the art department at FSG, where he worked from 1996 to 2000. He went on to design book jackets for Chuck Palahniuk, Junot Díaz, James Frey, and other authors.
