Filling the position Nicole Dewey left vacant last month after decamping for Little, Brown, Henry Holt has hired Patricia Eisemann as director of publicity. Eisemann will start at Holt on January 3.

Eisemann comes to Holt from The New York Times, where she was assistant director of media relations and community affairs/corporate communications. She also has a long background in book publishing, though. Before joining the Times in 2005 Eisemann was v-p and director of publicity at Scribner where she worked on campaigns for such titles as Frank McCourt's Angela's Ashes and Don DeLillo's Underworld. She also worked at Macmillan. In addition to overseeing the day-to-day publicity operations, Eisemann will work with Holt president and publisher Stephen Rubin on companywide communications.

With Eisemann's hire, Maggie Sivon has been promoted from assistant director of publicity to deputy director of publicity. She joined Holt in April 2009.
