Orbit, the science fiction and fantasy imprint of Little, Brown, has appointed Anne Clarke as its new UK editorial director following the departure of Darren Nash. Clarke is currently a commissioning editor at Hodder & Stoughton, where she has been in the fiction editorial department for six years. She will start at Orbit on January 4, reporting to Tim Holman, who is publisher of Orbit in the UK and U.S.

Matthew Benjamin will be joining Simon & Schuster's Touchstone imprint on December 13 as a senior editor. Benjamin was most recently senior editor at William Morrow and also worked in the Collins Lifestyle imprint and in the Harper imprint. Some of his notable acquisitions include Trickle Up Poverty by Michael Savage and The Dangerous Book for Boys by Conn and Hal Iggulden. At Touchstone, Benjamin will continue to focus on acquiring men’s interest, celebrity, pop culture, sports, health, and investigative journalism.

Allison Lorentzen has been named editor at Penguin Books. Lorentzen was most recently an associate editor at HarperCollins ans is also an Editor of n +1. In her new role, Lorentzen will be acquiring both fiction and nonfiction, as well as working closely with Kathryn Court on Viking and Penguin acquisitions.
