Alena Graedon has been named manager of membership and literary awards the Pen American Center. Graedon was most recently an editorial assistant at Knopf and was also an executive assistant to PEN’s previous executive director, Michael Roberts. In her role at PEN she will oversee the recruitment and renewal of professional and associate Members, whose ranks include poets, playwrights, essayists, editors, novelists and other literary professionals. Graedon will also run PEN’s Literary Awards program.
