Andrew Beckman will be the new editorial director for Workman Publishing subsidiary Timber Press, beginning September 27. Beckman was formerly editorial director of gardening and v-p for Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia. He is also a cohost on the Sirius Satellite Radio show Homegrown, and contributor to the Martha Stewart Living gardening blog, At Home in the Garden. Beckman will relocate from Hudson, N.Y., to Portland, Ore., within the month.
E-book service Kobo has opened a new office in New York City and has hired Jan Ehrlich as director of newspapers and magazines, and Amy Greko as senior manager of vendor relations (books). The new hires will focus on building publisher relations and content acquisition for the U.S. market.
