International journal and book publisher Emerald Group Publishing Inc. has appointed Deanna Wamae senior v-p of the Americas. Wamae will work out of Emerald’s U.S. head office in Boston and will focus on driving sales growth and usage development across North and South America. Wamae was most recently publisher relations manager for the Copyright Clearance Center. She also worked in sales and journals licensing for Blackwell Publishing.
Peter Hubbard has been promoted to senior editor at HarperCollins. Hubbard began working at William Morrow in May 2004 as Henry Ferris’s assistant, and with Cal Morgan and Carrie Kania in the paperbacks group. Hubbard helped establish the Harper Perennial Modern Thought imprint and managed backlist titles for Aldous Huxley, Robert Pirsig, and Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn.
