Florrie Binford Kichler had been named to the newly created position of president of the Independent Book Publishers Association. As president, Kichler’s mandate will be to build strategic partnerships and expand programs and services for the book publishing association’s 3,200 members. Kichler will serve as IBPA’s public voice within the book publishing industry and will work with executive director Terry Nathan who will continue to oversee the day to day operations of IBPA (formerly the PMA).

Kichler served as president of IBPA’s board of directors from 2006 to 2009 and was a member of the IBPA board from 2002 to 2006. The current president of the IBPA board, Carlene Sippola, will now become chairman. Kichler will report to the IBPA board while continuing to serve on the board of the Book Industry Study Group and the advisory board of BookExpo America as well as participate in industry events on behalf of the association.
