    Five days after leaving as publisher of Penguin Random House's TarcherPerigee imprint, Joel Fotinos has been named editorial director for a line of mind/body/spirit books at St. Martin's.

    Brian Napack, who has served in a host of corporate positions including as president of Macmillan, will start at John Wiley on December 4.

  • Childs to Retire from Globe Pequot

    Jim Childs will retire as publisher of Rowman & Littlefields’ trade division, Globe Pequot Press, on October 31. Until a replacement is found, Rowman & Littlefield CEO Jed Lyons will serve as publisher at-large.

  • Quarto Reorganizes U.K. Imprints

    The Quarto Group has reorganized some of its U.K.-based imprints in what the publisher calls "an effort to re-energize its publishing program, and keep it relevant to readers and customers in an ever-changing market."

  • Former 'Esquire' Editor Tapped for Job at Little Random

    Mark Warren, formerly an editor at 'Esquire,' has been named v-p and executive editor of the Random House imprint, effective October 16. At little Random, he will be acquiring nonfiction, with a focus on politics and history.

  • Canongate Acquires Severn House

    Canongate has bought Severn House Publishers, for an undisclosed sum, from owner Edwin Buckhalter. With the acquisition, Buckhalter will retain a consultancy role, while Severn publisher Kate Gibb has been promoted to COO of Canongate.

    Gabriella Page-Fort, editorial director at AmazonCrossing, was named PW Star Watch Superstar at a party at New York's Tao Downtown nightclub last night.
