  • Bertelsmann Takes Full Ownership of Random House Mondadori

    A week after announcing that it was forming a joint venture with Pearson to create Penguin Random House, Bertelsmann said this morning that it has agreed to acquire the 50% stake in the Spanish-language publisher Random House Mondadori that had been held by its Italian partner. The purchase is expected to be completed before the end of the year.

    The nonprofit, indie Feminist Press will be publishing the first e-book about the Russian punk band, Pussy Riot.

  • Graphic Arts Books Buys Pruett Publishing Titles

    Graphic Arts Books has acquired the trade titles and publishing rights of Pruett Publishing Company of Boulder, Col. The deal includes about 50 books which Graphic Arts will publish under its WestWinds Press imprint.

    Following an auction that concluded August 28, Amazon Publishing has acquired the publication contracts of over 1,000 books from Dorchester Publishing.

  • Open Road to Pub British Erotica Trilogy in North America

    Open Road Media is publishing the British erotic series Eighty Days in North America. The trilogy was published by Orion in the UK in early August and has, per Open Road, become a bestseller and sparked big ticket bids for translation rights.
