It happens every spring, publishers shift distribution. Consortium Book Sales & Distribution is adding four clients this season. Books from two California-based presses are available now: Behler Publications in Lake Forest, which specializes in books chronicling personal journeys with socially relevant themes, and boutique publisher Nortia Press in Orange County, which focuses on current events, foreign affairs, business, and historical fiction. Starting March 1, Consortium will add two houses from overseas: 1001 Inventions in Manchester, England, publisher of 1001 Inventions, which promotes awareness of the scientific and cultural achievements of Muslim civilization; and 20-year-old GLAS New Russian Writing in Moscow, which publishes contemporary Russian literature in English translation.

Simon & Schuster will add Ripley Entertainment titles to its distribution bag starting April 1, handling all sales and fulfillment in the U.S. and Canada. “We are pleased to have Ripley Entertainment join our family of distribution clients," said Stephen Black, v-p of Client Publisher Services. “Ripley’s Believe It or Not! is one of the world’s most recognizable trademarks, and the publication of their signature title is a much-anticipated annual event. We look forward to helping them expand their presence for their entire line of books in both traditional bookselling and specialty outlets.”
