Comparable store sales rose 0.6% at Barnes & Noble over the nine-week holiday period that ended January 2, 2016. Excluding sales of Nook products, comp sales were up 1.6%.

Algonquin Goes Vinyl for ‘Music City’ Novel Promo
In a small press first, Algonquin released a 45 to promote Ed Tarkington's debut novel, which is shot-through with ‘70s music. It features two original songs written and performed by Grammy-nominated country musician Will Hoge.

Otto Bookstore in Williamsport, Pa., one of the oldest continuously operating bookstores in the U.S., is on the market. Owner Betsy Rider, age 81, is ready to retire.

‘Go Set A Watchman’ Tops Print Book Sales in 2015
The 2015 print bestseller list was topped by Harper Lee’s "Go Set a Watchman," which was announced in February and went on sale in July.

Print Book Sales Up Again in 2015
Unit sales of print books from outlets that report to Nielsen BookScan increased 2.8% in 2015 over 2014, marking the second consecutive year that print units posted annual gains.
