NAIBA 2016: Younger Booksellers Bring Invigorating Presence
Attendance was up at the New Atlantic Independent Booksellers Association fall conference, held from October 15-17 in Baltimore, Md. The show, which grew by 40 booksellers and 20 exhibit tables, also saw an increased presence from younger booksellers.

August Bookstore Sales Rose 2.0%
Sales in August, one the biggest sales months of the year because of students returning to college, rose to $1.66 billion from $1.63 billion a year ago.

SIBA Regroups Following GABBS Show Cancellation
The 22-year-old Great American Bargain Book Show has canceled its upcoming spring 2017 show and will close. SIBA, which was planning to merge its fall trade show with GABBS, will be moving ahead with its 2017 event, set for Atlanta on March 7.
