Bookstore Sales Jump, Slightly, in April
Bookstore sales rose 1.8% in April, over the same period in 2016, according to preliminary estimates released by the U.S. Census Bureau. Bookstore revenue was $714 million for the month, compared to $701 for the same period a year ago.

Solid Gains in the Juvenile Categories Help Drive Units Up
Partly due to a strong performance in the juvenile nonfiction category, unit sales of print books at outlets that report to NPD BookScan were 4% higher in the week ended June 4, 2017, than in the comparable week in 2016.
