David Ebershoff at Hogarth won North American rights to Light and Thread by Han Kang (pictured l.) from Laurence Laluyaux at RCW Literary Agency. The Nobel Prize winner’s first book of nonfiction published in English is “an intimate, inspiring collection of Han’s writings that illuminates the connections between her life and art,” per the publisher, and will include her 2024 Nobel lecture. The book was translated from the Korean by Maya West, e. yaewon, and Paige Aniyah Morris. Publication is scheduled for March 2026.

Tara Singh Carlson at Putnam landed North American rights, at auction, in a two-book deal, to Wisteria Falls by YA author Jessica Goodman from Alyssa Reuben at WME. Goodman’s adult debut follows “a woman who must return with her fiancé to the idyllic riverside hometown she once fled, and where her tumultuous now-married ex has secretive plans of his own, exploring what happens when love, lies, and ambition collide.” Publication is slated for spring 2027.
Michelle Herrera Mulligan at Atria picked up North American rights, in an exclusive submission, to Sara, the Girl from Sufsaf by susan abulhawa from Anjali Singh, who has an eponymous agency. The novel centers on “the unlikely journey of Sara, a grandmother many times over who, after a head injury returns her to her 18-year-old self, sets off with her beloved donkey Aziza for her home in occupied Palestine, reclaiming a stolen destiny and reuniting with a lost daughter and long-lost love along the way,” per the publisher. Release is scheduled for 2027.
Mark Siegel at 23rd Street netted world rights, excluding French, in a two-book deal, to Marc Craste’s Picatopia from Nicolas Grivel, who has an eponymous agency. The graphic novel is the first in a series about “two siblings as they make their way through a strange other world in an immense tower filled with Picas, monstrous creatures that were once human,” per the publisher. Publication is slated for 2027; the second book in the series has not yet been announced. Jill Freshney will also edit.
Aranya Jain at DAW acquired North American rights to Christopher Ruocchio’s epic fantasy trilogy The Doomsong Saga, from Shawna McCarthy at the McCarthy Agency. The series, set in a pagan world based on the Mediterranean of the late Bronze Age, follows “a royal family that has been generationally cursed, the prince and princess who must avenge their father’s murder at the hands of their mother, and the inescapable wrath of ancient furies,” per the publisher. A spring 2027 release is planned for the first volume, The Godstained House.
