Banks Inks Multi-Million Dollar Deal with Berkley
Maya Banks has signed a multi-million dollar deal with Penguin's Berkley imprint, agreeing to write a new erotic trilogy. Kimberly Whalen at Trident Media Group handled the North American rights deal for Banks with Cindy Hwang at Berkley.

HMH Signs Collection Celebrating Boston
Houghton Mifflin Harcourt has announced an anthology celebrating Boston called Our Boston. The proceeds from the book, which is subtitled Writers Celebrate the City They Love, will go to One Fund Boston, a charity established to support victims of the recent marathon bombing.

Mitch Albom is leaving Hyperion, for Harper. The bestselling author, has left his longtime publisher, signing a three-book deal with the HarperCollins imprint. The first title in the deal, set for fall 2013, is a novel called The First Phone Call from Heaven.

Knopf Announces Thatcher Bio
Knopf has acquired an authorized biography of Margaret Thatcher by British journalist Charles Moore; the book, set for May 21, is called Margaret Thatcher: From Grantham to the Falklands.
