U.S. Book Show Highlights Arabic Culture with SZBA Panel
With the growing interest in the U.S., this year’s U.S. Book Show will feature a panel discussion entitled “Bringing the world to your door: A spotlight on Arabic literature and culture.” For centuries, Arabic literature and culture has influenced some of the West's most revered authors and thinkers. Three panelists, 2021 winners Tahera Qutbuddin and Michael Cooperson, and 2022 winner Muhsin Jassim Al-Musawi will discuss the how, for centuries, Arabic literature and culture has influenced some of the West's most revered authors and thinkers, and why is it important that we continue to share works of this diverse culture around the world.

Adapting to Changes in Pay-per-Click Advertising
In this panel—scheduled for May 24, 3–4 p.m. ET, and moderated by Carlyn Robertson, marketing lead at BookBub—book marketing experts will discuss what’s changed in the world of digital advertising in the past year. Topics of discussion include how marketers can adapt as major ad platforms and tech companies adjust targeting options and algorithms and best practices for AMS, Facebook, and BookBub ads.

Black Women, Black Voices: Debut Memoirists on Career and Publishing
PW, in partnership with Amazon Publishing, presents this panel— scheduled for May 25, 1:30–2:30 p.m. ET, and moderated by Regina Brooks, the founder and president of Serendipity Literary Agency—in which Cin Fabré, Bria Adimora Godley, Danielle Prescod, and Aomawa Shields discuss their experiences as Black women in corporate America and beyond, how they came to write and sell their memoirs, and what audiences can expect from their forthcoming books. “This panel will spotlight an essential conversation,” says Julia Sommerfeld, publisher at Amazon Publishing. “And it will continue to bolster the need for more of these underrepresented stories across industries.”
