After the Twittersphere lit up Wednesday when some outlets broke word that Penguin had begun restricting libraries' access to digital audiobooks, a spokesperson from the publisher said that no change has occurred in the house's policy. Erica Glass, at Penguin, told PW that there has not actually been a shift in the publisher's policies, because all digital titles--digital audio, as well as e-books--were affected by the restrictions the house announced in November.

On Wednesday OverDrive sent a letter to its customers, picked up by sites like paidContent, about changes to Penguin's digital audiobook policies with libraries. When asked to explain the letter, a representative from OverDrive said the company had no comment.
