Canadian printing and media firm Transcontinental announced plans to unveil an e-book distribution platform today at BookExpo America that will deliver titles to multiple digital platforms across of wide range of retail channels.

Jacques Gregoire, sr. v-p of the book magazine and catalogue group at Transcontinental Printing, said “The digital publishing industry is transforming at a rapid rate and as technology continues to converge at quantum speed, Transcontinental has invested the time, money and resources to understand the evolving market direction and source the right platform neutral technology that our customers can leverage in order to remain competitive.”

The new e-book distribution platform will require only one file for all retail channels; links to international retailers through the Transcontinental digital warehouse; publisher control over pricing; real-time sales data and marketing analysis reports and digital marketing tools like Page-flip Previews and more.

Transcontinental is teaming with DeMarque, a Quebec-based technology company that specializes in e-book distribution in Europe and Canada. Transcontinental and DeMarque will be giving on-site demonstrations at their booth (#4867) at BookExpo America. Earlier in the month, Transcontinental announced it was the official e-book partner of the Canadian Booksellers Associations.

“Our goal is to simplify the process by creating new revenue streams for our clients and ensure they can deliver the right digital services at the right time on any device or format,” Gregoire said. “It is what the market is demanding and we are responding to that need.”
