This week we take a look at apps for abs, airline travel, and students on the go.

Title: Hemispheres

Price: Free
Background: Hemispheres is the world’s largest onboard magazine, reaching over 12 million monthly travelers on all United and Continental Airlines flights.
Interactive features: The app has 360-degree images, audio, video, and buying links.
Title: Pearson eText
Publisher/Developer: Pearson
Available: February 17
Price: Free
Background: The app gives registered users of Pearson’s MyLabs/Mastering online homework and tutorial programs another option for accessing their companion eText.
Interactive features: Digital content is presented in the same high resolution as on a computer, even when pages are zoomed, and displays perfect fidelity to the print book. Students can add their own personalization (notes, highlights, bookmarks) while working on their iPads and then access it later on their Mac or PC.
To be included in this listing, please send us the app title, the book or other source for the app (if there is one -- original apps are fine, too), when it was released, price, background of the book (including such info as copies in print, when it was released, awards, and brief plot summary), and the interactive elements of the app. Send all apps and promo codes to Jim Milliot, and send news of children’s apps to Diane Roback as well.
