DNAML, an e-book technology developer and e-book distributor, announced plans to sell the domain name eBook.com. The San Francisco investment bank, Viant Capital, LLC, will manage the auction process for ebook.com. According to DNAML, over the last year the site has provided nearly 5 million e-book downloads of the 12,000 e-book titles it offers.
DNAML managing director said the sale of the domain is part of effort to streamline DNAML’s offerings and focus the company on its core business of developing the DNAML e-book technology and distribution platform. Initial bids for the domain are due to Viant Capital by 2:00 p.m. PDT, September 30. The sale is expected to close before the end of October.
“There are not many industry defining, core keyword domain names, such as eBook.com. And in the eBook space there is no better name than eBook.com,” DNAML managing director Adam Schmidt said.
