Close Encounters

On August 15, M.T. Anderson attended a screening at the Park Avenue Screening Room in New York City of Landscape with Invisible Hand (Candlewick), the film adaptation of his 2017 YA novel. Here, Anderson poses with Vuvv, an alien depicted in the novel and movie.


One of Us Says Goodbye

For the release of her series finale One of Us Is Back (Delacorte), author Karen M. McManus (r.) went on an 11-city tour. The One of Us Is Lying trilogy, which debuted in 2017, became an instant staple of bestseller lists, has been translated into 40 languages, and also spawned a TV series.


Hi, Barbie!

On August 5, Cindy Eagan, author of The Story of Barbie and the Woman Who Created Her (Random House), made an appearance at the Malibu Barbie Café in New York City. Egan’s picture book, illustrated by Amy Bates, spotlights Ruth Handler, the inventor of the Barbie doll, and how her daughter Barbara was the inspiration for what would become the iconic doll line.


House of Sequels

Erin A. Craig recently went on a book tour for her latest YA fantasy, House of Roots and Ruin (Delacorte), sequel to Sisters of the Salt. On July 30, Craig visited Lark and Owl Booksellers in Georgetown, Tex. Here, Craig prepares for the event with staffers.
