On March 22, former U.S. Poet Laureate Joy Harjo made a visit to the WNYC Studios in New York City to discuss her new picture book, Remember (Random House Studio), for NPR podcast The Takeaway. The collaboration with Caldecott Medalist Michaela Goade utilizes one of Harjo’s poems as source material.
An Author Celebrates Big Wins
Author Doug Salati was invited to the Penguin Random House offices for a celebration on March 28. Salati’s picture book Hot Dog (Knopf) earned him both the 2023 Caldecott Medal and the Ezra Jack Keats Award. Salati held a meet-and-greet and signed books for Random House Children’s Books staffers.
Mother and Son Go on Tour
Author Nic Stone appeared at the Madison location of RJ Julia Bookseller in Connecticut while on tour for her latest YA novel, Chaos Theory (Crown). The event took place on March 7 after it was postponed due to snow. Here, Stone and her son Milo pose with a blowup of the book cover.
Ghost Town
Author Adrianna Cuevas made a trip to New Mexico, the location that inspired the setting of her middle grade novel The Ghosts of Rancho Espanto (FSG). While there, Cuevas learned the history and lore surrounding Ghost Ranch.
