Writers come together to highlight French literature; a ballet dancer is a special guest at a reading; an author reads at a book festival; and an author is welcomed at a sold-out tour stop.

A French Connection

French scriptwriter Wilfrid Lupano appeared at the inaugural My French Book Fest in New Orleans, La., which took place November 3 through 5. The event was a collaboration between the Consulate General of France, Villa Albertine, and the Alliance Française of New Orleans, to bring together the New Orleans community with Francophone authors through interactive activities such as comics workshops, virtual reality experiences, and storytimes. Here Lupano gives a reading of his children’s book The Wolf in Underpants/Le Loup en Slip.

Dancing into the Holiday Spirit

On November 1, author John Robert Allman (r.) held a reading for his holiday-inspired picture book The Night Before the Nutcracker (Doubleday) at the Drama Book Shop in New York City. American Ballet Theatre dancer Connor Holloway (l.) appeared with Allman, adding a new “spin” to the story.

Bringing Storytime to Boston

The Boston Book Festival took place on October 29 at the Boston Public Library, welcoming author Melissa Stewart for her appearance. Stewart gave a reading of her latest picture book Tree Hole Homes (Random House Studio) to an audience of caregivers, educators, and children.

Sold Out Series Chat

On tour for Gleanings (Simon & Schuster), the latest addition to his Scythe series, author Neal Shusterman (front, second from r.) stopped by Anderson’s Bookshop in Naperville, Ill., on November 14 for an event. At the sold-out tour stop, Shusterman spoke about his new book, held a q&a with the audience, and signed books for attendees.
