Katy Hershberger has joined School Library Journal as senior editor, YA. Most recently she was social media manager and a bookseller at McNally Jackson Books in New York City, and prose editor at 3Elements Literary Review. She had previously worked in publicity at Simon and Schuster Children's Publishing, Bloomsbury Children's Books, and St. Martin's Press.

Algonquin Young Readers has a new hire and a promotion. Megan Harley has been named marketing manager; she was previously promotions manager at Workman. Sarah Alpert has been promoted to associate editor, from assistant editor.

Michaela Whatnall has been promoted to school and library marketing coordinator in children's marketing at Chronicle Books. Previously she was special projects marketing assistant.
