As 2025 comes to a close, we’ve gathered some of the big series for young readers that concluded this season.
The Demon and the Light by Axie Oh (Feiwel and Friends, Oct. 21 $19.99 ISBN 978-1-250-85311-0). In the final book in The Floating World duology, the people of the Floating World look to Ren to find a way to stop the invasion of the Volmaran as she grieves the loss of her love.
Dungeons & Dragons: Dungeon Club: Final Face-Off by Molly Knox Ostertag, illus. by Xanthe Bouma (HarperAlley, Sept. 30 $24.99 ISBN 978-0-06-303928-5; $15.99, paper ISBN 978-0-06-326846-3). Tyler has kept the secret about Sunny, his invisible friend that encourages him to be bolder. But when Sunny’s advice goes too far, Tyler abandons her and learns to confront reality, in the third and final installment of the Dungeons & Dragons graphic novel series.
Fortress of Ambrose by J. Elle (Razorbill, Oct. 14 $20.99; ISBN 978-0-593-52776-4). J. Elle closes out her House of Marionne series with the tale of Quell Marionne. Now head of her magical house, Quell must choose between stopping the Order or saving her love.
Lost Evangeline by Kate DiCamillo, illus. by Sophie Blackall (Candlewick, Sept. 30 $17.99; ISBN 978-1-5362-2552-5). Tiny Evangeline is taken in by a shoemaker but then finds herself lost in the huge world and must find a way to survive on her own, in the conclusion to The Norendy Tales trilogy.
Mirror Mirror by Sarah Mlynowski (Scholastic Press, Oct. 7 $16.99; ISBN 978-1-339-00280-4). Abby and Jonah enter the magic mirror for a final Whatever After adventure that takes them back to Snow White, the first princess they saved. But upon returning, old enemies try to trap them, and the duo will need to rely on the many friends they’ve made along the way to escape.
A Queen’s Match by Katharine McGee (Random House, Nov. 4 $20.99; ISBN 978-0-593-71074-6). The closer to A Queen’s Duet follows Hélène d’Orléans, Alix of Hesse, and May of Teck as they navigate heartbreak, friendship, and betrayal in their race for love and the throne.
Rafi and Rosi Menu!/Rafi y Rosi ¡Menú! by Lulu Delacre (Children’s Book Press, Sept. 9 $13.95 ISBN 978-0-89239-492-0). Rafi and little sister Rosi set off to buy a missing ingredient for their Abuela’s pasteles in the conclusion of the Rafi and Rosi series.
The Rose Field by Philip Pullman (Knopf, Oct. 23 $29.99; ISBN 978-0-593-30663-5). In the last book of The Book of Dust series, the companion to Pullman’s His Dark Materials series, Lyra travels to the desert of Karamakan in search of a beloved friend, unknowingly with Malcolm on her trail.
The Secret and Other Stories by Jarvis (Candlewick, Oct. 7 $16.99; ISBN 978-1-5362-3943-0). In the final installment of the Bear and Bird series, the titular best friends navigate a series of troubles ranging from feeling left out to discovering differences, and more.
Skandar and the Spirit War by A.F. Steadman (Aladdin, Sept. 2 $18.99; ISBN 978-1-66596-623-8). In the fifth and concluding book of The Skandar series, Skandar finds himself in hiding and fights to regain the Island’s trust amid a sudden betrayal and a forthcoming invasion from a longtime enemy.
A Steeping of Blood by Hafsah Faizal (Farrar, Straus and Giroux, Sept. 23 $20.99; ISBN 978-0-374-38942-0). In the closer of the Blood and Tea series, after a deadly fight that leaves her crew of vampires scattered, Arthie Casimir returns to her past in order to pave the road for a new future.
The Valley of Lies by Ali Standish (Harper, Nov. 4 $19.99; ISBN 978-0-06-327567-6). After being inducted into Professor Sherlock Holmes’s exclusive Circle of Light, tween Arthur is forced to betray his idol and act as a spy in order to save his sister, in the final installment of The Improbable Tales of Baskerville Hall series.
Witchlight by Susan Dennard (Tor Teen, Nov. 4 $21.99; ISBN 978-1-250-19417-6). Susan Dennard’s five-book series Witchland comes to a close in Witchlight, which traces Safi and Iseult as they make the perilous journey to heal the last Origin Well.
