Stephen King will voice a new rendition of the classic Brothers Grimm fairy tale Hansel and Gretel, a forthcoming picture book written by King, with artwork by late renowned illustrator Maurice Sendak.

HarperCollins first announced horror writer King and Caldecott Medalist Sendak’s collaboration on the picture book in February. Hansel and Gretel is scheduled for publication on September 2, and will be released simultaneously in the U.K. by Hodder Children’s Books.

The unabridged audio edition will also be available for download in the U.S. and Canada from HarperCollins Audio, and in the U.K. by Hodder Children’s Books, on September 2. King has previously been featured on the audiobook for his nonfiction title On Writing and in several afterwords for audio adaptations of his books.
