Maril's sprightly debut navigates the high-stakes world of Formula 1 driving. Documentary filmmaker Lilah Graywood relocates from Washington, D.C., to Glory Run, Tex., to be with her boyfriend and business partner, Max—only for him to reveal that he’s having an affair with an employee of their latest client, Ignition Energy Drink Racing, and that their company is registered in his name only, meaning he’s within his rights to fire her, which he does. Enter Formula 1 reserve driver Arthur Bianco. Though Arthur and Lilah got off on the wrong foot due to Arthur’s resistance to appearing on screen, he’s incensed to learn of Max’s treatment of her and makes it his mission to make sure that Lilah stays on the project. Sparks fly as the pair scheme together—including a stint faking a relationship. The far-flung locales of the Formula 1 circuit make an exciting backdrop to their endearing romance, and Max is a villain readers will love to hate.
